Anyone know who this is?

[McKenzie]

I know that Scott recruited Virg, Rufus Philpot and Steve Wiengart to play on his new album. Something to keep an eye and ear out for.

No...sounds familair and I LIKED it!

Scott Jones is a monster musician, & a very affable guy. He used to frequent the audiophile imports ikonboard threads, where he posted his own website with some of his mp3s.

Let me tell you that not only is he a great fusion/jazz/blues gtrst, but he's also a very accomplished jazz/fusion kit drummer [pardon the "labels"], & often records the gtrs & drums on most of his stuff. Holdsworth, Gambale, Henderson, AWA other more SA jazz guys influence on gtr.

Highly accomplished virtuostic multi-instrumentalists like he, Deej, & Tony Mac make me ill [altho Mac's not "as jazzy"/more prog-rock-fusion, but quite the player yet still ;c)]. I only had / have enough time in this life to try to become more than just average on just the kit...it just aint fair.
